This post is in response to all we (I) hear about guns, and the want to regulate them. We've all heard the quote before, "if we outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns." This is a true statement. There are so many things on my mind I don't know where to begin, but here goes. If you are already in favor of guns great, but I'm writing this to try to change the mind of those who believe guns should be removed from our society, and actually believe removing guns will solve the problem of mass violence and killing. This my fellow Americans is the farthest thing from the truth, and, before I go on, there is no way we can tell who the next mass killer will be. If you believe people (the government) can identify certain characteristics or traits to identify who the next wacko is, be careful, you may fit the profile or maybe the 80 year old grandmother in a wheelchair at the airport. Here's the rub, we enjoy what freedom we have left because our forefathers fought for these rights with -- you guessed it, guns. If it's not bad enough, currently we're living in a semi-police state where federal, state, and local police abuse people's civil rights on a daily basis. Think your immune from the harassment, -- open your eyes; look what is happening at the airport, your made to feel like a criminal, all for safety??? BULLSHIT! All for conditioning you to believe you have no rights. Wait till you get stopped for a traffic ticket, most times your made to feel like a Jew in a concentration camp. Sorry, our freedom isn't a light topic in my book. Think about it, how would you or the protector in your family protect you and your family from an armed intruder? Call the cop's? That's a joke, cop's are too busy giving tickets. Cops nine times out of ten somehow arrive just in time to take a report. If you think I'm way out on left field on this you've just been fortunate. Bottom line, we live in a dynamic society and shi(t)s gonna happen. If you think our leaders have your best interest in mind, -- again, wake up, wake the F-up. Guns are our insurance policy that we as a free nation may never have to resort to revolution to take back the freedoms which already have been paid for in blood.
Now, can you imagine if you had to defend yourself from a tyrannical group (the government) and had no guns or access to them? Shit creek without a paddle my dear brother. Reality is, honest law abiding citizens in most cases are the actual first responders, we are the ones who can aide when the "bad guy" is doing his or her thing. Wait, call the cop's, yea right, how many people could have been saved in all these mass shooting if the good law abiding gun owner could have shot back? No one really can answer this question, but I'm sure many. Have you been wondering lately, why is it most of government's solutions seem to be ass backward? When we through casual conversations with others seem to come up with plausible pragmatic economical solutions, but government's solution always seems to involve more money from you? Government is a black hole that can never be satisfied. People, caring, loving, and involvement in most cases are the solution, not 100 dollar bills. Here are a couple of quotes from one of my favorite founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson:
"Every difference of opinion is not a difference of principle. We have called by different names brethren of the same principle." First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1801
"Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves, therefore, are the only safe depositories." = Notes on the State of Virginia, Query 14, 1781 =-
As a matter of fact, if you look up some of the founding fathers' quotes, you'll find that many of them apply directly to the challenges we as a nation and society face today. Ahh, the old history repeating itself thing, hind sights 20 20. Wake Up!!! This is my small contribution, I need to take advantage of the first amendment while I still can.
